ABOUT US
Hello! I’m Tanaa Adams, a first-generation Guyanese college student and proud food lover.
I created this website to share the flavors and traditions that shaped my childhood and helped me stay connected to my family’s roots. In my home, Guyanese food has always meant togetherness. From holiday cook-ups to simple weekday meals that brought everyone to the same table. Back in Guyana, food plays that same role in every community, carrying stories, culture, and history in every dish.
Cook Up Guyana is my way of celebrating that love. It reflects the joy I find in cooking, the pride I feel in my heritage.

One of my biggest goals with Cook Up Guyana is to make learning these dishes easy and accessible- especially for first-generation kids like me who want to keep our culture alive. This space is for anyone curious about Guyanese cuisine, eager to try something new, or looking to reconnect with their roots through food!

FAMILY GALLERY
Through Cook Up Guyana, I want others to experience that same connection- whether you’re Guyanese yourself or just curious about Caribbean flavors. This space is all about learning, sharing, and celebrating the foods that bring people together and keep culture alive.
